Welcome Back to School!
Dear Families,
Welcome to a brand new school year! Whether you're returning or joining us for the first time, we're thrilled to have you as part of our school community. Our teachers have been preparing engaging lessons, our classrooms are ready, and we can't wait to see the hallways filled with excited learners again.
Our Focus: Achievement and the Power of Yet
This year, we're embracing a powerful idea that will help every student grow: the power of yet. When students say "I can't do this," we'll encourage them to add one simple word: "yet." "I can't solve this math problem yet" or "I don't understand this reading yet" reminds us that learning is a journey, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow.
We believe every child can achieve great things when they embrace effort, practice, and persistence. The word "yet" transforms obstacles into stepping stones. Throughout the year, you'll hear your child talking about their "yet" moments, celebrating mistakes as learning opportunities, and recognizing that their brain grows stronger with every challenge they tackle.
How Families Can Support
You can reinforce this mindset at home by celebrating effort alongside results, asking "What did you learn today?" instead of only "What did you get?", and sharing your own "yet" moments. When families and school work together with this growth mindset, amazing things happen.
Here's to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and discovering what we can achieve!
Warmly,
Principal Harlow
